We are delighted to announce the venue for our Structured & Freeform Surfaces is at École Normale Supérieure (ENS), Paris-Saclay, Cachan, FRANCE.  ENS is located in Cachan city in the south of Paris.  Full address for transport/taxi is : 61 avenue du Président Wilson 94230 Cachan.

The SFS meeting will be held in Alembert Building just in front of the main entrance.  The area will be signposted and students will be around for assistance

To get to ENS from Porte d’Orléan is also easy: – By taxi, 10 to 12 minutes (about 15€) – By bus direct, line 197 or 297 stop at Bagneux RER station (30 minutes)

Travel

Getting to ENS Paris Saclay

Public transportation is the faster and cheaper way to travel in Paris.  More travel information is kindly provided by ENS Cachan here.

By train

ENS Paris-Saclay is at “Bagneux station” on RER B line (Blue RER Line). You can also take bus but the best option to get to ENS is RER B.  RER B crosses Paris from North to South.

CAUTION: Not all RER trains stop at Bagneux station. When you are on the platform, before getting in the RER train you have to check the sign on the platform: For example in the image , the train will stop at “Le Bourget” station (light is on) and will not stop at “Drancy” station.

Metro tickets

Paris Metro is divided in 6 Zones, to travel in Paris downtown a regular ticket (zone 1-2) in necessary but to get to Bagneux station you need a ticket for zone 3.
You can buy single tickets or round trip tickets in any metro station. The best option is to buy a ticket for one week (active from Monday morning to Sunday midnight) for about 25 €. With this weekly ticket you can travel unlimited on RER, Metro, Bus, tramway.  Please ensure you have photographic ID with you each time it is used.  To get to airports you will need extra tickets. ENS Paris-Saclay is 7 minutes from “Bagneux” station. The first day Students will be in front of the station to guide you

By airport

• From Charles De Gaulle Airport you can take RER B direct to Paris downtown and “Bagneux” station.
• From Orly airport you can take “orlyval” from the airport (6 minutes) to get to RER B and then get directly to “Bagneux ” station (15 minutes).
