Venice to Host euspen 18th Annual  Conference & Exhibition

The euspen caravans are scheduled to roll into Venice, Italy for the 18th International Conference and Exhibition to be held 4-8  June 2018.  The organisers are excited to bring this prestigious annual event to such an iconic location. Once again, the greatest industrial, research, and academic minds in the area of precision, micro, and nano manufacturing will gather to discuss this exciting and dynamic area of innovation.

The 5 day international conference and exhibition provides a leading forum for industrialists, researchers, and academics alike to review the best of world-wide innovation, progressive research, and technology developments in precision engineering.

Every year the event grows, and it has now become the largest single conference and exhibition in the area of micro-scale manufacturing in Europe. This year more than any previous year, it is important that anyone interested in engaging with experts and leading technology and service providers mark their diaries now to block off the days in June, and register early.

The conference at the annual event provides ground-breaking information in key areas of concern to people working in the area of precision engineering, including metrology, ultra precision machining, additive and replication processes, precision mechatronic systems & control, and precision cutting processes. Furthermore, specific focus on topics such as handling, robotics, automation, and industry 4.0 for precision manufacturing will be addressed.

Keynote addresses already confirmed for the 2018 event include an introduction to the AWAKE project and its technical challenge by Dr Edda Gschwendtner from CERN in Switzerland; “Magnetic confinement nuclear fusion: status, challenges and perspectives” by Professor Piero Martin from the University of Padua in Italy, , Dept. of Physics and Consorzio RFX, Padua, IT;  “In-process Metrology for Precision Manufacturing” by Ing. Francesco Ziprani, R&D Manager at MARPOSS S.p.A., Italy; and  “Precision Engineering for Biomedical Applications”  by Professor Maarten Steinbuch from TU Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

In addition the annual event boasts the largest exhibition of key players in the provision of technology solutions for the precision engineering and nanotechnology sector. The exhibition allows delegates to see and discuss existing technology solutions and imminent developments that will optimise manufacturing endeavours moving forward.

euspen’s success as an event organiser in the precision engineering space is in no small part due to the fact that central to all its activities is the stimulation of networking. This is especially the case at the annual event, where all on-site features are designed to bring commercial manufacturers, academics, and leading researchers together to share experiences and discuss key issues of concern to the sector.

To stimulate such cross fertilisation of ideas and experiences, in addition to the on-site opportunities at the annual event, delegates are able to attend the prestigious euspen networking dinner, and also tours that will be arranged to companies and institutions close to the venue in and around Venice and Padua.

Through the annual event an environment is provided where professionals learn, meet, and discuss issues related to micro and nano manufacturing, networking being seen to be vital in driving innovation and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in this exciting field of engineering.
